Arrival and check-in

photoWe arrived by Eurostar at the Gare du Nord, which is just east and a few blocks south of Montmartre. Armed with directions from Home Rental Connections and our Paris Par Arrondissement street atlas, we headed up the Rue Dunkerque and reached the apartment after a 15-minute walk.

Willa, a Canadian employee of Home Rental Connections, was on hand to welcome us when we reached the building on the Rue de Steinkerque (as was Michele Vannoni, owner of Home Rental Connections, who was in Paris that weekend). Willa and Michele handed us our keys, gave us a tour of the apartment, showed us how to use the appliances, and drew our attention to a well-organized manual for renters (which included advice on local shops and restaurants).
