The
four-star
Hotel Al Theatro Palace is in a small, peaceful square near the
Gran Teatro La Fenice,
Venice's historic opera house. The Piazza San Marco, Doge's Palace, and St.
Mark's Basilica are also within easy walking distance.
The hotel, which opened in 2017, is easy to reach from the Alilaguna and ACTV
waterbus pier at Sant'Angelo, on the Grand Canal. (From the airport, take
Alilaguna's Linea Arancio boat, a.k.a. the Orange Line.)
How to walk to the hotel from the Alilaguna Linea
Arancio airport-boat stop at Sant' Angelo:
Leave the Sant' Angelo boat pier and walk straight ahead
into the Corte de l'Albero, a small square just inland from the Grand Canal.
Bear left, walk past the Hotel de l'Alboro, and exit the
square via the Calle de l'Albero.
At the canal, turn right, walk a short distance along the
water, and cross the bridge on your left (the Ponte de l'Albero).
After crossing the bridge, walk a few meters straight ahead
to the Calle dei Avvocati.
Turn right at the Calle dei Avvocati.
Continue walking down the Calle dei Avvocati and past the
Campo Sant' Angelo (a large square on your right) into a narrower street
named the Calle del Caffettier.
Continue straight ahead, crossing a bridge that will lead
you to a covered passage, the Sotoportego de la Malvasia Vecchia.
Go through the covered passage. As you emerge from the
sotoportego, you'll see the Hotel Al Theatro Palace facing the
square on your left. (Signage is discreet, so look for the building in the
photo at the top of the page.)
