Avogaria Locanda photo

The Avogaria 5 Rooms, formerly the Avogaria Locanda, is a tiny "design B&B" close to the Campo Santa Margherita (one of Venice's most appealing squares) and the Zattere waterfront promenade.

Air-conditioned accommodations range from double or twin rooms to junior suites with private gardens, all with free Wi-Fi. Hypoallergenic and handicapped-friendly rooms are available.

Although the Avogaria 5 Rooms is within walking distance of airport buses and taxis at the Piazzale Roma, it really comes into its own as a cruise hotel for passengers using the nearby San Basilio ship terminal.

BELOW: Our YouTube video walking directions show how to reach the Avogaria 5 Rooms (a.k.a. the Avogaria Locanda) from the Zattere stop of the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat. The video includes a bonus feature on how to reach the cruise terminal from the B&B and vice versa.

How to reach Avogaria 5 Rooms from the San Basilio cruise terminal:

Avogaria 5 Rooms map directions
  1. Cross the small wooden bridge in front of the San Basilio cruise terminal's main entrance.

  2. Turn left at the first corner, into the street than runs inland from the vaporetto stop.

  3. Continue walking through the small square of Campo San Basegio.

  4. Follow the canal until the third street (Calle dell' Avogaria), which is just to the right of a bridge.
  5. Turn right into the Calle dell' Avogaria. The Avogaria B&B and restaurant will be a short distance ahead of you, on the right side of the street.
