Walking directions to Bauer Palazzo (with map)
The luxurious Bauer Palazzo (formerly the Hotel Bauer and Il Palazzo) consists of two sections: one in a 1940s Italian Modern building just inland from the Grand Canal, and a more exclusive wing in an authentic, historic Venetian palace that is now a lavishly-decorated "heirloom and boutique hotel" that's perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary trip. Chances are, you'll be arriving by water taxi at the Bauer Palazzo's private pier, but if you're willing to mingle with the hoi polloi on public airport boats, you can walk to the Bauer from the San Marco Giardinetti waterbus station.
