closed in fall, 2023 for renovation and will reopen at an unannounced
time. |
The
Hotel Bonvecchiati is a beautifully situated four-star hotel just north of
the Piazza San Marco, overlooking a canal and gondola basin. It has 124 double
and twin rooms (all pet-friendly and with free Wi-Fi).
Amenities include a bar, a waterside terrace restaurant,
and a fitness center with hot tub, Turkish bath, and sauna.
How to reach the Hotel Bonvecchiati from the Alilaguna
airport-boat pier at San Marco Giardinetti:
-
As you leave the boat station, turn left and cross a small
stone bridge.
-
Continue a few meters to the Calle Vallaresso and turn
right.
-
At the first cross street, turn right and
walk through a covered passage into the Piazza San Marco.
-
Walk through the square (or under the
arcades, if the crowds aren't excessive) to the north side of the square as
shown on the map.
-
Go through the Sotoportego de l'Arco Celestia (a covered
passage right before the Modolo shop and a yellow sign that reads "Per
Rialto").
-
When you reach the canal just beyond the end of the passage,
bear left. You'll see the Hard Rock Café ahead of you, facing the gondola basin.
-
Turn right at the Hard Rock Café and walk a block or so
until you have to cross a footbridge.
-
The entrance to the Hotel Bonvecchiati will be straight
ahead of you after you cross the bridge.
From the Marittima cruise terminals:
-
Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the Marittima
cruise basin to the San Marco Giardinetti waterbus stop.
-
Follow the directions above.
