Walking directions to Sina Centurion Palace (with map)
Booking.com
The stylish, elegant,
five-star
Sina
Centurion Palace is on the Grand Canal, a long way from the nearest
airport-boat stop.
Anyone who can afford a hotel of this
class is likely to arrive by water taxi. Still, if you like walking, we'll be
happy to provide directions from the Alilaguna Blue Line pier.
How to reach the Sina Centurion Palace from the Zattere
airport-boat stop:
-
As you leave the Alilaguna
Linea Blu floating boat pier at Zattere, turn right and
walk a reasonable distance along the waterfront. You'll need to cross two
stone bridges: one just beyond the Hotel Calcina, and another after the
pedestrian promenade begins curving noticeably.
-
As you walk down the steps of the second bridge, go left
onto the Fondamenta Fornace (a sidewalk next to a local canal) and walk
inland.
-
Keep walking straight ahead, past the Hotel Messner, until
you reach a small bridge.
-
Do not cross the bridge. Instead, turn right and
walk until you see the Hotel Centurion Palace on your left. (It's a large,
beautifully-restored palazzo with an impressive courtyard.)
From the San Basilio cruise pier:
It's a long walk from San Basilio to the Centurion
Palace, but the pavement is level (except for several footbridges) and the walk shouldn't
be difficult unless you're infirm or hauling large suitcases.
-
Leave the terminal by the main doors and walk to the wooden
bridge.
-
Cross the bridge and continue walking along the waterfront,
past the vaporetto stop and the Conad supermarket.
-
You'll need to cross two more bridges: one just beyond the
Hotel Calcina, and another after the pedestrian promenade begins curving
noticeably.
-
As you walk down the steps of the second bridge, go left
onto the Fondamenta Fornace (a sidewalk next to a local canal) and walk
inland.
-
Keep walking straight ahead, past the Hotel Messner, until
you reach a small bridge.
-
Do not cross the bridge. Instead, turn right and
walk until you see the Hotel Centurion Palace on your left. (It's a large,
beautifully-restored palazzo with an impressive courtyard.)
From the Marittima cruise terminals:
-
Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the cruise
basin to the second stop (Zattere). The price will be about half of the fare
to the airport.
-
Get off at the Zattere stop and follow the first set of
directions above.
