The Hotel Scandinavia - Relais occupies an ancient palazzo on  one of Venice's most pleasant squares, the Campo Santa Maria Formosa. The location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping, and the hotel is easy to reach (with only two bridges to cross) from the Alilaguna Blue Line airport-boat stop at San Zaccaria.

Tip: If you can afford it, try to reserve a room with a private terrace overlooking the campo. (Only a few rooms have terraces, so book early if you're tempted.)

How to reach the Hotel Scandinavia from San Zaccaria:

There are several ways to reach the Hotel Scandinavia from the Alilaguna Linea Blu airport-boat stop at San Zaccaria. We recommend this route, which is relatively simple and straightforward:

1. As you leave the boat station, look for a covered passage ahead of you. The passage is called the "Sotoportego S. Zaccaria," and you'll see signs for the Ospedale (hospital) and the Carabinieri (police) above the opening.

2.  Go through the passage, which will lead you into Campo San Zaccaria.

3. Continue through the campo and turn left at the northwest corner.

4. Walk a few meters and turn right at the next corner into the Calle San Provolo. Continue a short distance past the Hotel Fontana until you reach a bridge, which will be on your left.

5. Cross the bridge, which will lead you into a short, curved street named the Calle Corte Rotta.

6. Continue walking. The street will become Ragagiuffa (look for a sign on the wall).

7. Soon, you'll reach a small bridge at the end of the street. Cross the bridge to the Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

8. Walk straight ahead past the church. The Hotel Scandinavia will be on your right, facing the square.

From the Marittima cruise terminals:

1. Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the cruise basin to the San Zaccaria stop.

2. Follow the directions above.

From the San Basilio cruise pier:

1. Leave the cruise terminal by the main doors and walk to the wooden bridge.

2. Cross the bridge and walk to the vaporetto stop, which is just ahead.

3. Take the No. 2 water bus in the direction of San Zaccaria.

4. Get off at San Zaccaria and follow the directions above.
