Rolling Venice Card
Young people from ages 14 to 29 get discounts on food, lodging, transportation, and sightseeing attractions with this card. The price is only a few euros, and it's available at any Hellovenezia ticket counter or Venice Tourist Office information center.

Schools and Academic Programs

IUAV
The Università Iuav di Venezia has programs in architecture, design, fashion, visual arts, urban and regional planning, and theatre. It was one of the first architecture schools in Italy, dating back to 1926, and it has about 5,000 students (including exchange students from other universities in Europe and overseas.)

Learn mosaic technique or portraiture at a studio run by an internationally-renowned glass foundry. (Courses last from 3 to 14 days, and you can book a room at Orsoni's own B&B.)

Ca' Foscari University of Venice
The largest academic institution in Venice has faculties scattered around the city. You can take guided tours of Ca' Foscari, the university's headquarters palazzo on the Grand Canal.

Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia
This school in Venice's Santa Croce neighborhood offers spring, semester, and year-long academic programs.

Venice International University
VIU is a consortium of seven universities, the Fondazione di Venezia, and the Province of Venice. Its education and research facilities are on the small lagoon island of San Servolo.

Wake Forest University Residential Study Center
Each spring and fall, twenty Wake Forest University students live and learn for a semester in a palazzo on the Grand Canal. In the summer, the WFU School of Law and the University of Venice usually offer a comparative law program. Language learning

Istituto Venezia
This language school in Venice's Campo Santa Margherita offers classes and individual tutoring throughout the year. (The school also has a branch in Trieste.) We can personally recommend it.
