Medical tourismMunich International Airport has become a center for "medical tourism." Patients from other countries fly into Munich, have tests or treatments at the airport, and then fly home--often in a single day. The Munich Airport Clinic has two surgery rooms and 13 beds. Individually designed packages can include diagnosis, inpatient or outpatient surgery, hotel accommodation, transfer to a partner clinic for long-term treatments, and sightseeing programs for patients and their families. Specialties include orthopedics, hand surgery, plastic surgery, endocrine surgery, minimally invasive surgery for various conditions, ophthalmics, ear-nose-throat medicine, urology, gynecology, gastroenterology, and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. The clinic even has a magnetic resonance (MRI) scanner on the premises. For more information, click here. Other airport medical servicesIf you simply need to have a prescription filled or buy over-the-counter medicines, visit the Metropolitan Pharmacy in München Airport Center. The pharmacist can also give vaccinations against diseases, although you'll probably want to get these before you leave home if you're headed for an area of the world where immunization is recommended. For urgent care, go to the 24-hour Emergency Medical Practice in Area E, level 03 of Terminal 1 in the airport. Back to: München Airport Center - Page 1
