München Airport CenterPage 2
S-BahnClean, comfortable electric Schnellbahn trains depart from an underground station near München Airport Center's entrance. Look for the S-Bahn's vending machines, or pay your fare to an agent at the railroad ticket counter (see photo above). The trip into central Munich takes about 40 minutes, depending on your train and destination. Trains normally depart at 10-minute intervals from early morning until late evening. To board a train, simply head for the platform and catch the next S1 or S8 train. Once you're in the car, you'll find a map that shows the entire system. You can also get free pocket maps from the airport's literature rack or a ticket agent. Trains stop at several points in the city center, including the Hauptbahnhof (main railroad station) and the Marienplatz (in the pedestrian zone, where you'll find the city hall, the tourist office, and good connections to the U-Bahn subway or metro system). For more information on the S-Bahn, see the ground transportation page in our Munich International Airport article and How to ride the U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Next page: Passenger services
