Right Bank: OpéraFrom: Where to Stay in Paris
Hotels in the 9th arrondissementThe 9th arrondissement, home of the Opéra Garnier and two of the top Paris department stores (Printemps and Galeries Lafayette), is one of the most popular hotel areas on the Right Bank. One reason is obvious--great shopping--but the area is also a practical choice, especially if you're in Paris for only a few days. The Roissybus from Charles De Gaulle Airport offers frequent, inexpensive service to the rue Scribe (next to the Opéra Garnier, in the southwestern corner of the arrondissement). The 9th is within walking distance of most sights on the Right Bank, and several lines of the Paris Métro make it easy to reach destinations across the Seine or on the city's outskirts. You can also walk to Montmartre from the 9th if you don't mind the uphill slope. In a hurry? See:
Booking.com lists scores of hotels in the area, ranging from topflight properties like the Hôtel Scribe in the photo above (managed by Sofitel) to inexpensive two-star lodgings. Most hotels in the 9th are in the midrange category; we recommend looking for a hotel in the southern part of the arrondissement if you're arriving and departing via the Roissybus airport bus.
