The  Hyatt Centric Hotel Venice, formerly the LaGare Hotel Venezia, opened in 2013 as the first four-star hotel on the glassmaking island of Murano. (See our illustrated Murano Travel Guide).

The 118-room hotel is directly across from the Murano Museo landing of the Alilaguna Linea Rossa water bus, which stops in Murano on its way between the airport, the Lido di Venezia, and San Marco from late April until early November.

Note: Venice's historic center is easy to reach with ACTV's public water buses, which also stop at the Murano Museo boat landing next to the hotel. (You can save money on public transportation with a tourist travel card.)

The map and directions below show how to reach the hotel from Murano's two Alilaguna airport-boat stops: Museo (seasonal) and Colonna (year-round).

How to reach the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice from Alilaguna's Linea Rossa boat stop at Murano Museo:

1. Get off the boat.

2. Cross the fondamenta (sidewalk) to the hotel entrance, which is in the courtyard that faces the pier.

From Alilaguna's Linea Blu boat stop at Colonna (Marco Polo Airport and the Marittima cruise terminals):

1. As you leave the Colonna boat stop, turn right and follow the waterfront, which will curve left into a canal.

2. Head inland on the fondamenta or pavement next to the canal. (The street is named the Fondamenta dei Vertrai.)

3. Continue walking along the canal until you've passed the San Pietro Martire Church and reached a junction with a wider canal.

4. Cross the large bridge over the wide canal.

5. As you leave the bridge, bear right and walk along the waterfront for a minute or two.

6. When you reach the Murano Museo waterbus stop, turn left into the hotel courtyard. (The hotel is shown by its old name, "LaGare Hotel Venezia," on the map above.)
