The Hotel Violino d'Oro is a three-star superior hotel just west of the Piazza San Marco, in a pleasant location next to a canal with gondoliers and one of Venice's most famous shopping streets.

The five-star Hotel Bauer Palazzo faces the Violino d'Oro across the canal.

How to reach the Hotel Violino d'Oro from San Marco Giardinetti:

1. As you leave the Alilaguna Linea Blu boat station at San Marco, turn left and cross a small stone bridge.

2. Continue a few meters to the Calle Vallaresso and turn right.

3. Walk straight ahead down the Calle Vallaresso, past Harry's Bar and a row of designer shops.

4. At the first corner, turn left into the Salizzada San Moisè.

5. Walk to the narrow canal alongside the Hotel Bauer, where you'll see gondolas on your left and a small bridge just ahead.

6. Cross the bridge. The Violino d'Oro is in the campiello or small square to the left of the bridge, next to the canal.
